Exhibitors Entrance Criteria
Exhibitor’s entrance criteria have been established to ensure the authenticity of the products and services being exhibited and thus the integrity and credibility of the show to attendees.
The Organic Expo and the Green Show have separate entrance criteria. All exhibitors must substantiate these criteria and submit all evidence to the Event Organisers prior to the 30 April 2008.
The Event Organisers have the right, at any time, to deny entrance to the show any company, product or service which they feel does not meet these criteria. Audits of stands will be undertaken throughout the show and exhibitors found with products not adhering to the criteria will be asked to remove them from their stand. If you are in any doubt as to whether your product or service qualifies please call 02 9319 1228
Organic Expo Entrance Criteria
- All products exhibited within the Organic Expo section of the venue and making reference to organic on product labeling, marketing material or on stall material (other than as part of an ingredient list) must be certified organic or certified in-conversion to organic, by either an AQIS accredited organic certification agency, or for imported product, by an IFOAM recognised agency. The caveat to this relates to certain products e.g. water and salt, which cannot be labeled ‘organic’ and must be registered as ‘Approved Products’.
- Where an exhibitor has at least 70% of their product range assessed as certified organic, they may exhibit a remaining 30% of non-certified product provided these meet the entrance criteria for the Green Show. The 30% non-certified product may not make reference to being ‘organic’ and may not take up more than 30% of the stand space.
- All food products must be completely certified organic, other than those where there is no certification process available. Fair Trade food products will be accepted upon verification provided they do not make up more than 30% of the product range being exhibited on that stand; otherwise they can exhibit within the Green Show.
- Organic certification must be current at the time of the 2008 Organic Expo (25-27 July). Copies of the current certification certificates for all certified products promoted on the stand shall be available for inspection on the stand throughout the Show. Audits will be undertaken by the Event Organisers to check certification status and exhibitors must comply with their requests. Any products found not adhering to these entrance criteria must be removed from the stand immediately. The decision of the Event Organisers is final.
The Green Show Entrance Criteria
- All products being exhibited within the Green section of the Show must clearly demonstrate their positive environmental benefits. An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Form and any ancillary evidence such as membership of any environmental based body and ingredient lists must be submitted, to the Event Organisers, for assessment by 30 April 2008. EPD Forms must be available on the exhibitors stand on the days of the Expo. Audits will be undertaken by the Event Organisers to check products and exhibitors must comply with their requests. Any products found not adhering to these entrance criteria must be removed from the stand immediately. The decision of the Event Organisers is final.
- Products making reference to organic on product labeling, marketing material or on stall material (other than as part of an ingredient list) must be certified organic and meet the entrance criteria for the Organic Expo.
- With regard to skincare / beauty / cosmetic products and essential oils a signed declaration which forms part of the EPD form must be submitted stating that products do not contain any of the following ingredients:- EDTA complexing agents (except in hard soaps), formaldehyde or formaldehyde separators, organic halogen compounds, or any of the following synthetic ingredients – musk compounds, aromatic amines, oils, waxes, silicones, fats (except neutral fats), parabeens, sodium laurel sulphate or mineral oil products. No more than 2 questionable ingredients such as PEG’s, synthetic preservatives or colourings. Complete ingredient lists must be available for inspection at the show for all products. In addition: all ingredients must be declared on the product labeling, there must be no testing of the product on animals and steamed-distilled or cold-pressed pure oils only may be used.
